Pani (പണി) is a job marketplace that connects workers and employers in Kerala. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using Pani you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Mobile number — to sign you in with a one-time password (OTP).
- Profile details — your name, optional photo, district and panchayat, and (for workers) your profession/skills, experience and expected salary; (for employers) your company name.
- Location — your device location, with your permission, to show nearby jobs and workers. If you decline, we use the district saved on your profile.
- Content you create — job posts, applications, and chat messages.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you via OTP and keep your account secure.
- To match workers and employers by location, profession and availability.
- To let the two sides connect (contact reveal) and chat.
What is shared
- A worker's public profile (name, photo, profession, district, distance) is visible to employers searching nearby. Your phone number is hidden and is only revealed to an employer who explicitly unlocks your contact.
- We use trusted service providers to operate Pani: hosting and database (Supabase), SMS delivery (MSG91), and, where you make a payment, a payment processor (Razorpay). They process data only to provide their service.
- We do not sell your personal data.
Storage & security
Your data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure (Supabase) with row-level security so each user can only access their own data, and is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
Your choices & data deletion
You can edit your profile at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at hello@pani.place and we will remove it.
Children
Pani is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
